One Small Seed Newsletter – Edition #246, September 2021
Greetings friends,
In the name of all that’s good and holy, I want to share some gospel insights. The word gospel comes from the Old English which started out meaning “God wise” and then gradually went to “good news.” God wise means that wisdom of God, but in a secular world that is a little offensive, so “good news” became the norm. To defend what one says sometimes puts one in a box with a specific title on it, that actually doesn’t defend, but condemns the one in the box to that box for life. At least, that is what the ones that condemn believe. The good news is the One that loves you the most doesn’t condemn the world at all, but it is the law that condemns. The good news is, the One that loves the most died to save us from the consequences of sin and death by conquering the one who steals, kills, and destroys. The good news is, we do have a choice in the matter.
The good news is, you don’t need to live in a box that the world has made for you. A box that is filled with darkness so much that you need a special guide to lead you around and you need for them to tell you every move to make. The good news is Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, but the world is an enemy of God. To get out of the darkness that the world is in, is to not believe the negativity of the world and obey the commands of God through Christ. He said, If you love me keep my commandments and the good news is: It works. The darkness will flee, the box will flee and you will be living in the light of God’s love. This is called liberty.
One other bit of good news is the fact that the truth is nutritious, it is manna from heaven. God created man to benefit from the nutrients of truth the same as with natural food, but the advantage that truth has is that it gives eternal life and boosts the energy level of the natural body. The more truth we consume the healthier we’ll be. This is why God made sure we have so many laws, so we can become healthy, wealthy and wise. The primary law, that guides us and opens our eyes to better health, is “to love God with all our spirit, soul, and mind.” Remember the law was first and then came grace, and that is the truth of the Gospel. This month I will leave you with a gift from my collection of poetry. Have a blessed day and God bless.
Your friend in Christ,

Commandments
God’s commandments we are told
Were written in days of old
To guide a man on his darken path
Man accepted them that day
For he knew he must obey
To save himself from impending wrath.
When it came the law was good
Man obeyed the best he could
For he knew how great his God could be
Each one did his very best
He could see that he was blessed
There’s no thing on earth as blessed as he
Blind to truth and born depraved
Giving mind to be enslaved
By a force of simply selfish lust
Then the grace of God was spurned
To dumb idols soon he turned
And forsook all hope of Godly trust.
When the wrath of God unfurled
Shaking forces of the world
All His people soon in bondage went
To refuse to hear his voice
Was their plain and simple choice
So these people to their toil were bent.
Then to man there came a day
In his plight he need not stay
But stand up and face the dawning light
All the joys he would receive
If he ever chose to leave
All the bad things of eternal night.
Only man still had a choice
To be still or raise his voice
To proclaim the advent of the King
Sad to say but few were found
Spreading Good News all around
So to night he chose to hug and cling
Then the sun soon moved to noon
And it seemed that very soon
It would pass completely out of sight
But what glory to the son
Seems his work is never done
There’s no time or place for any night
There are those who choose to keep
Carnal minds in deepest sleep
Waking not to see the light of day
Matters not what choice they make
If to sleep or be awake
We live with him together anyway.
God’s commandments we are told
Written in the days of old
On tablets that were hewn out of stone
But the laws we have today
Far surpass the ones on clay
These are written on our hearts alone.
Love is what fulfilled the law
Came from God to bless us all
In the form of His begotten son
On this law we can depend
If we seek this new found friend
For God’s love is gift to everyone.
