One Small Seed Newsletter – Edition #1
Greetings in Jesus’ name,
Did you ever study consequences? Did you ever consider the good as well as the bad side of consequences? The Bible is a book of consequences that has been passed down from generation to generation for the betterment and the progressive religious, moral and psychological development of man. Whenever man chose not to use the text as a guide, he would fail to progress and more often than not would regress his development. Whenever he chose to use the Bible as a guide he would progress beyond imagination. Because of man’s intellect, he is able to deduct and conclude the effect of causes. This is one way he has been able to remain a civilized society. By knowing the consequences of every action, a person or society is able to regulate their lifestyles to conform to the conclusion and bring to themselves a healthier and happier environment. Those that shun the consequences of lifestyle bring on themselves damnation and bring on those they associate with, the unending cost of resources, time, sleep and grief. We should not be the slave to consequences but we should be the servant of those things that help us avoid the conclusion of bad consequences and bring us the joy of good consequences. This is the reason God gave us a written guide. He teaches us how to know the consequence and how to position our lives, thoughts, and daily conduct so that it aligns with the pattern of his program so that only good consequences come to us. He loves us! We know this through the proclamation of his Word and the consequence of love. If he loved us enough to do this for us, why can’t we love him in return by loving one another and showing more love for ourselves by respecting his Word in us.
Bible examples of consequences:
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Galatians 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Romans 2:3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgement of God? Romans 2:6-11 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: to them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation, and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honor, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God.
Consequences are a blessing when we consider them first and they are definitely a cursing if we consider them last. I speak these words because I am forever,
Your friend in Christ,
