Greetings in Jesus name,
Cosmos deals with the created things by God to establish an environment for natural life to dwell in. The Greek word “Kosmos” means (universal, harmony). The word “truth” means: the essence of reality, all that is real, the common denominator of all things.
These two things go together in an environment where there is harmony, even though they represent two different parts of a human life. The cosmos, or the universe, is govern by the almighty creator (or God). When God put Adam in the garden of Eden, he told Adam to care for the garden and to keep it. When God said this, he didn’t say you will have the ability to change nature but he did give Adam the choice to “keep” the garden in God’s pleasure or Adam could change to his own environment outside of God’s pleasure. But there was no way that Adam could change God’s environment whether it was natural or spiritual. If there was any changing going on, it had to be on Adam’s part to do it.
So now there were two changing factors in Adam’s life. One was what God told Adam when he put him in the garden, (Genesis 2:16-17). “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” The other was Adam now had a choice, to stay and live, or to die and be cast out. God had given Adam a choice to either believe God and dwell in the truth, or listen to the deceiver, who had said, “you won’t surely die”: which was a lie.
Did God need to change the natural environment to adapt to the “dead” Adam. No, but the dead Adam had to adapt to the new environment he was changed to. Now, things were even changed in the spiritual life of Adam, he was now living in the environment of actions and reactions, choices and consequences, truth and lies, and the absence of God’s pleasure, but the elevated pleasures of a carnal, disobedient and selfish mind.
The dilemma of Adam’s choice is spelled out in Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He hath (God has) made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart (Adam’s race), so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end”. God gave to man the abilities to help mankind to survive in a natural environment. He gave to man the ability to learn and become wise in his natural mind to overcome the thorns and thistles of life. But God also gave to man a living soul which, unfortunately, became a slave to the carnal and mortal disposition of the human will. Since God is a just God, he was compelled by His divine nature to give man a remedy for his disobedience and the lying effects of the deceiver.
Unbeknown to Adam was the essence of Truth, the decisions he made were no surprise to God. Before God created anything he had purposed to have a creature that could live in a natural environment (or cosmos) and also give that creature a plan to dwell in a heavenly environment. But, that creature would need to respond to the wisdom of God (or The Truth) in order to accomplish the pleasure of the Creator.
Since flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom, the only median that lets man communicate with God (or truth) is the Holy Spirit. The only key there is to access the Spirit of God (or truth) is faith. The only tie there is that bonds us to the Spirit of Truth is Love. The only reason we have that can allow us the privilege of accessing the truth is Grace. Since grace is unmerited favor, God didn’t need a reason, but he chose Love to be a reason. Like John said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.
Remember, Truth is the essence of all that is real and true and the reality that lights our path to peace, love and joy. It is our comfort in times that we need to make decisions and in times we have learned to be patient, kind and considerate. God is good and will never leave us or forsake us. I hope you have understood this text and I pray for God’s blessing upon you. Amen.
Your friend in Christ,
